Customising a motorcycle with a SHERCO graphics kit looks simple, but fit depends on model, year and sometimes the plastics already fitted. Protection parts follow a different rule: they must address a real risk without obstructing cooling, steering or maintenance.
Graphics kit and plastics kit are different products
A graphics kit is a set of decals cut to match plastic shapes. A plastics kit replaces physical panels such as mudguards, radiator shrouds and side panels, depending on contents. Graphics may therefore be incompatible when a motorcycle uses plastics from another year or manufacturer.
Information required before buying
- Full model: 125 SE, 250 SEF, 300 SE, 50 SM and so on.
- Exact model year.
- Version: Factory, Racing, XTREM, RS or another trim.
- Brand and year of the plastics if no longer OEM.
- Included panels: shrouds, side panels, mudguards, fork guards or airbox sections.

How to apply SHERCO graphics neatly
- Remove the plastics where practical so you can work flat.
- Clean and degrease them with a compatible product.
- Work in a clean room at a moderate temperature.
- Position each decal without removing all backing at once.
- Squeegee gradually from the centre to the edges.
- Apply moderate heat to curves as instructed by the manufacturer.
- Allow the adhesive to settle before washing or riding.
Deeply scratched, whitened or distorted plastic will give a poor result even with premium decals. Replacing the plastics first is often more durable.
Seat cover: style, grip and fit
A seat cover may improve rider support with grippy panels or ribs. Check that it matches the foam shape and seat length. Even tension and symmetrical stapling prevent creases and wear points. Deal with wet or damaged foam before closing the cover.
SHERCO skid plate: what should it protect?
A skid plate protects the lower engine and may extend around cases or linkage. For rocky enduro, coverage and resistance matter most. Check access for oil changes, mud drainage, frame compatibility and clearance. A plate full of dirt can retain heat and moisture, so remove it periodically for cleaning and inspection.
Radiator guards: strength without blocking airflow
Guards reduce deformation from side impacts. They must not crush hoses, touch the fan or excessively restrict airflow. After an impact, check alignment, fixings, leaks and free fan movement.
Handguards and controls
Open handguards mainly stop roost and branches. Closed designs add a metal backbone but require careful fitting: no pressure on levers, cables or hoses, and no contact with tank or bodywork at full steering lock.
Best order for equipping the motorcycle
- Protect expensive or exposed components according to terrain.
- Replace damaged plastics if necessary.
- Choose a seat cover for the required grip and ergonomics.
- Apply the graphics last to clean, sound surfaces.
